About the Company Java Planet

Java Planet is an organic coffee company that was founded in 2015 with the mission of producing quality, sustainably-sourced coffees. The owners are passionate about supporting smallholder farmers in growing regions around the world and ensuring their coffees are Fair Trade certified and USDA Organic.

Java Planet is committed to creating a positive impact on the environment, the communities they work with, and the overall coffee industry.

Socially and Environmentally Responsible Initiatives

Java Planet does not only care about producing delicious coffee but also values the social and environmental impact of its production process.

The company sources beans directly from farmers to ensure fair trade, and along with that, a percentage of its profits is donated to nonprofit organizations that support reforestation and conservation. So, when you brew a cup of Java Planet’s Guatemala organic coffee, you’re not just enjoying a great cup of coffee but contributing to sustainable coffee farming.

About Java Planet’s Guatemala Organic Coffee

Java Planet’s Guatemala organic coffee is sourced from small farmers throughout western and northwestern Guatemala. This region has consistently been ranked as one of the top-producing regions for specialty coffees. The farmers work in partnership with Java Planet to produce a quality product that is socially responsible and environmentally sustainable.

The high altitude and favorable microclimate here create a unique terroir for the Arabica beans, producing an intensely aromatic cup with rich flavors of dark chocolate and dried fruit.

Java Planet’s Guatemala organic coffee stands out for its bold flavor profile, unique taste characteristics, and social responsibility. The coffee is grown in the nutrient-rich volcanic soil of the Quetzalten region and is hand-picked to ensure only ripe cherries are harvested. The beans are then processed using a wet milling technique that preserves the natural sugars

Guatemala: Rich Growing Soil for Coffee

The Guatemalan coffee-growing region is well renowned for producing coffee beans with a unique flavor profile, ranging from chocolatey to fruity and citrusy. Guatemalan coffee beans are grown in mountainous areas that receive abundant rainfall throughout the year, which creates a rich growing soil for coffee plants. The beans are hand-selected based on their size, color, and density, which ensures that only the finest beans make it to your cup.

Organic Certification Process

Java Planet’s Guatemala organic coffee is certified organic by the USDA, which means that the beans are grown without the use of any synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or herbicides. Additionally, this certification requires that the farms are managed in a way that supports and enhances soil fertility, biodiversity, and ecological balance. The organic certification guarantees that the coffee beans are free from harmful chemicals and grown with a focus on sustainability – which is essential for both coffee lovers and the environment.

Hand-Selected and Roasted to Perfection

Java Planet’s dedication to quality doesn’t stop with organic certification. The company’s experienced team hand-selects only the best coffee beans, ensuring each batch has the perfect balance of flavor notes, aroma, and body. The beans are then roasted in small batches to allow for optimal flavor development and consistency. The care and attention that go into Java Planet’s production process are evident in each cup of their Guatemala organic coffee.

The beans are very fresh with a little shine and a few color inconsistencies.

Unforgettable Flavor Profile

The flavor profile of Java Planet’s Guatemala organic coffee is simply unforgettable. It boasts a rich, full-bodied taste with undertones of chocolate, nuttiness, and a hint of fruitiness. The aroma is equally rich, offering notes of smoked oak, which adds depth to the coffee’s overall flavor. This coffee can be enjoyed on its own or blended with other beans to create your perfect cup of coffee.

Brewing Java Planet’s Guatemala Organic Coffee to Perfection

Java Planet’s Guatemala organic coffee is best enjoyed when brewed to perfection. If you want to bring out the flavor and aroma of the beans, a cold brew, French press, or pour-over techniques are recommended.

One Pour Method

Recipe & Method This is a very simple recipe using 18 grams of beans with a medium grind and 250 grams of water at 198F. You can add the grinds and then the water or my preference is to add the water and then the grinds and stir just enough till all the grinds are underwater.
Waite for 2 and a half minutes before draining. Used a paper filter.

Taste: Smokey roast with a chocolate finish no acid going down.

After Thoughts: would go very well with cream. Try a courser grind and lower temp.

4:6 Method

When using a French press, start by adding coarsely ground coffee

Cold Brew

Recipe & Method Used a 1 to 10 ratio with this brew I used 60 grams of coarsely ground beans to 600 grams of water and let soak for 24 hours with about 4 stirs whenever. Used a Hario Switch to pour through a fine mesh stainless steel filter inside a paper filter.

Taste: Strong body, creamy chocolate flavors / Adding cream brings out some sweetness

After Thoughts Have to wonder what this could be as a light roast.

French Press

Recipe & Method: 24 grams of coarsely ground beans to 200 grams of water at 198 degrees 1 to 12 ratio for 3.5 minutes.

Taste: Creamy and smoother than the pour-over. some chocolates smells like a dark roast.

After thoughts: Maybe the courser grind plays a big part in bringing out more flavor & body.

Conclusion

Java Planet’s Guatemala organic coffee is not ordinary coffee. It is of premium quality, organically certified, and roasted to perfection.

The taste notes aroma, and flavor profile will evoke your senses and leave you ever wanting more. Not only that, but the socially and environmentally responsible initiatives the company takes on its part will also give you the pleasure of enjoying a cup of coffee with a carefree heart.

Try Java Planet’s Guatemala organic coffee today and experience the rich flavor for yourself, and with each cup you take, you will know they are being made with care.
